XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/09

Stu got some great glide on the Wild Turkey trail yesterday afternoon!

Despite sunny skies and warm temps, there are still a lot of good stretches on the Rolling Hills, Trappers Cabin, Wild Turkey, Mackinaw Cut, and Adventure trails, especially if you wait until the snow softens up. There are definitely icy spots on all the trails, and some bare spots are opening up as well. Butch did groom Sunday afternoon, but we are not grooming this morning due to some larger icy stretches that make it exceedingly challenging for the groomer to get traction on. Overall, it is still possible to eek out some nice spring skiing today, before the really warm temps and precipitation hit tomorrow.

Due to the rain in the forecast the next few days, we will not be grooming, and this will be the last ski report before Friday, March 12th.

The Stone Turtle Cafe is open for outdoor dining, as well as 50% capacity indoor dining. Enjoy this sunny day!

All the best,

– Mariah, Stu, Bob, Lynne, Erin, Gill, Missy, Krista, Alex, Bradley, George, Mike, Butch, Will, Joel, Donnie, Josh, Josie, Annie, Lissa, Brian and the crew
