Happy Opening Day!
First chair will be at the purple chairlift at Cedar River Village. See you at 9am!
Today, the purple chairlift and magic carpet will be spinning from 9am-4:30pm.
Our mountain crew has been hard at work getting the hill ready for opening day! Bonus runs have been added from our original projected opening count, including a few small features in the Monster Terrain Park and free skiing in the Natty Glades (please enter this area with caution as snow levels may be uneven).
Conditions are fantastic on the hill— it’s hard to believe that the ground was green just 10 days ago! We’ve had almost two days of around-the-clock snowmaking on the purple, yellow and blue pods. Last evening, we moved the guns off of the purple pod to start making snow on the pink.
Our snowmaking strategy is focused on the long-term. By keeping these pods closed this weekend, we’ve been able to maximize the efficiency of our snowmaking hours, building up other areas more quickly, and ensuring a long-lasting base this season.
Schuss Mountain will be open December 7-8, from 9am to 4:30pm, will then close midweek and then reopen daily for the season on December 14.
Early season lift ticket rates will be applicable this Saturday and Sunday, $41 for ages 9-69.
9km of the XC trail system has been rolled and track set.
