XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/16
We had another beautiful day of skiing yesterday. Groomer Henry Ginzu groomed the trails to excellent condition and chef Ryan was very busy making many orders for her now famous Ryan Wrap! Today looks like another fine day to ski. The temperature as of 7am was 22F and Groomer Kevin will start Ginzu grooming all the trails at first light. We received about 2 inches of fresh powder throughout the day yesterday which is the perfect solution to the oak leaves that like to collect in the tracks! We have a 9 to 13 inch base and 12 to 16 inches of snow in the woods. The skating lanes and tracks are in excellent condition on all trails except the Tall Pines trail, which has very good conditions on it’s skating lane and set tracks.
Forecast:
Today: Partly cloudy skies this morning will become overcast during the afternoon. High 31F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy skies. High around 20F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.
Thursday: Sunshine in the morning followed by cloudy skies during the afternoon. High around 30F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.
Todays lunch special is the Classic Ham & Swiss: Sliced Black Forest Ham, fresh tomatoes and Swiss cheese with stone ground mustard on Stone House 7 grain, grilled to toasted tastiness and served with Great Lakes chips and a pickle! If you prefer, our Classic Chili and Veggie Chili will also be served as will our other delicious paninis, muffins and cookies. Eat well! Ski longer! Have fun!
The Winter Wonderland Sale is in progress with super low prices on insulated outerwear and racing skis and boots!
Skiing today may very well red line the fun meter!
