Crystal Mountain Cross Country Ski Report – 01/26
All trails are open! Current conditions are better than expected with the skate lanes having a nice cover of frosting on them. Track set is spotty and shallow with the hope of getting a new trackset down. Skate lanes will be firm and fast today and Thursday. Our consistent grooming helps the trails to hold up despite temperature variations – and it’s Michigan outside, so they’ll variate. Rental equipment is available, and trail passes are required. Call the Kinlochen Pro shop at ext. 4000. PLEASE NOTE: Our XC trail system is for skiers only – no walking on these fresh tracks, please. Footprints ruin the packed, corduroyed skating lanes. For walkers, the Otter Run loop directly across from Kinlochen is a multi-use trail designated for walking as well as skiing.
New Snow: Trace
Snow Depth in Woods: 6+"
Packed Snow Depth on Trails: Up to 4"
