Valley Spur Trail System Cross Country Ski Report – 02/09

2/9 no pictures, no ski report. All I got is Doom and Gloom. Started raining around 5 pm yesterday with Temps around 45 degrees. Today it’s 36 degrees and rain. Yesterday when we skied we found we only had around 2 to 4 inches of ice/snow whatever you want to call it on the trail. So sad.

I did ride out and it appeared the trails are still covered. The Ice Climbers are in town and the National Park Service closed ice climbing at Sand Point Area yesterday.

The Ice Climbimg Festival has many classes and guest lectures going on. We sure will miss all the skiers we usually get this weekend. 🙁

Ski Michigan

FROM Friends of Valley Spur >> 12/6 Friday and the Valley has a fresh groom. All trails are groomed with the exception of H. H will not be groomed until the swamp at the bottom of Worel's Woods freezes up. John is still using the Jeep to groom as we are waiting for the tracks to arrive for our Kubota. The snow needs to settle before our skate lanes will be up to par. Come Saturday the lodge will have homemade soup and bread for you to enjoy. Thank you Mother Nature for a early start to a normal Valley Spur Winter. #valleyspur #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan12/6 Friday and the Valley has a fresh groom.
