Nothing like Spring skiing. Valley Spur was just fine this morning. Skied the transition like riding a cresting wave. Stepped onto the snow at 9:30am with the snow just softening and slowing. Skated until 11:am. My favorite trail is the one with the twisting, ribbon of black water, a creek cutting through winter’s matted beard, the water sparkling in the hard glint of a spring sun, its laughter chasing and teasing where the trail runs beside it.

Skiing will hold through the weekend. Surprisingly good conditions with very little trail debris, snow that has not transformed to ice yet, and a firm, flat deck. Optimum skiing time from sunrise to 11am. and longer if you want to through some H-F on.
