Vasa Trail Cross Country Ski Report – 12/14

From Groomer Glen:
Good Morning Badgers,
James and John had a successful night on the trail. It was 29 degrees when they started and 27 degrees when they finished up at 4:30 am. The following is a quote from the text I received from James at 4:30 this morning.
” Definitely bought us a bonus day of good skiing if people get out early, particularly for skating. Surface is corn snow ball bearings, but fluffy enough for control. Only a few thin spots but there was always a snowy patch if you pick your line carefully. Rock skis for sure though. Tracks are well formed everywhere but totally glazed, and often full of debris. I suppose classic skiers with skin skis would do just fine. I would encourage people to get out and get after it tomorrow ( today ) cautiously , cause those thin spots will be bare spots in another day.”
Well there you have it. If you can carve out sometime today to ski sounds like it could be very rewarding. Enjoy! 🙂. Peace, Glen
