XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/15

Conditions on the ski trails remain in good shape. The best skiing is on the Rolling Hills, Wild Turkey, Mackinaw Cut, Trapper’s Cabin, and Manitou trails. Groomer Mike will snow comb the skate lanes on all trails at daybreak today. Aside from the oak leaves down on the trail, and some of the busier parts becoming hard-packed, conditions are still good for classic and very good for skating. Snow is in the forecast for tonight – do your snow dance!! *Please note that we will be spreading snow on the Trapper’s Cabin trail today, so watch out for tractors and large chunks of snow on the Trappers Cabin trail for the next couple of days!

Weather Forecast:
Today: Flurries or freezing drizzle possible early. Cloudy. High 31F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight: Variable clouds with snow showers. Low 18F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.
Tomorrow: Cloudy early with partial sunshine expected late. High 21F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.

The Stone Turtle Day Lodge Cafe Lunch Special is the Pesto Grilled Cheese Panini! Swiss, provolone, basil pesto, sliced tomato, and red onion – all grilled to perfection on herbed focaccia bread. Served with Great Lakes Kettle Chips and a dill pickle spear!

Are you interested in a performance classic ski that gives near the performance of a waxable (and sometimes better), but with a no-wax base? Look no further than the Fischer Twin Skin Carbon
classic skis! These lightweight speedsters feature a synthetic, Teflon-infused mohair grip section, for reliable kick even in icy track. The glide is incredible, too! On sale now, call 800-832-2663 for our special sale price. Stop by and demo a pair for free!

Let it snow!

-Mariah, Stu, Bob, Lynne, Erin, Matt, Missy, Gillian, Molly, Annie H., Annie B., Grant, Josh, Michelle, Krista, Crystal, Mike and the crew
