XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/25

Yesterday afternoon on Manitou Trail. Looks like Spring Break is OVER – Winter is BACK!

What a grand 48 hours snowfall we’ve had! Since Wednesday night, we have received a total of 9-10 inches of dense, heavy snow – just perfect for grooming the trails. Yesterday, Groomer Bob set tracks in the morning, and after a bit more accumulation, Groomer Stu snow-combed the skating lanes in the afternoon. The snow groomed up magnificently, with not a single bit of dirt showing through. With the additional 2-3 inches of new snow since yesterday afternoon, Groomer Stu will be re-setting tracks and snow combing the skate lanes again early this morning. Tall Pines, Rolling Hills, Mackinac Cut, Wild Turkey, Trappers Cabin and Manitou will have excellent conditions for both classic and skating by late morning. Blizzard and Adventure will not be groomed because the ground is too wet in spots.

Forecast:

Today: A mix of clouds and sun. High 41F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies. Low 24F. Winds light and variable.

Tomorrow: Intervals of clouds and sunshine. High 48F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

The Stone Turtle Cafe’s lunch special is the Mediterranean Tuna Salad. A bed of organic spinach topped with albacore tuna, tomatoes, red onions, banana peppers, kalamata olives, feta cheese, house made hummus and house made croutons. Comes with a warm multigrain roll and real butter.
The March Madness Sale is underway with great deals on everything!

Spring skiing is here!
