XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 04/10

Yesterday’s Hawaiian Deck Cook out was an overwhelming success! We will do it again today!

We had a great day of skiing yesterday! The groomed trails, April sun, bright white snow and deep blue sky defined Pure Michigan Cross Country Skiing! That same April sun also melted a few bare spots on the Tall Pines trail, but skiers still could get around them. As of 6:30 this morning we were getting light snow and we are forecast to get snow throughout the day today. Groomer Bob Ginzu groomed all the open trails last evening and groomer Stu will groom early this morning. The fresh snow will help cover the bare spots and make for some great skiing today! We have 4 to 10 inches of snow in the woods and 2 to 5 inches packed on the trails.

Forecast:

Today: Cloudy with snow. Some sleet or freezing rain possible. High 33F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 100%. 3 to 5 inches of snow expected.

Tonight: Rain and freezing rain early…with rain showers overnight. Low 31F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precip 100%

Monday: A mix of clouds and sun early, then becoming cloudy later in the day. High 38F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph.

Join us today for Spring Break at the Headquarters! Enjoy half off facility passes and ski rentals, plus a Hawaiian style pulled pork barbecue on the sundeck. Wear a Hawaiian shirt and win a prize!
