Valley Spur Trail System Cross Country Ski Report – 12/05

12/4 and I have great news. We will be officially opening for the season tomorrow Friday the 5th of December.

The lodge will be open, trails will be groomed, the parking lot plowed, and shoveling crew has done their job. John Cromell has put in a lot of hours removing trees from the trails.

Today he had Magnus out rolling trails.

What a difference one good snowstorm can make at Valley Spur.

John is also cutting back some tree branches along the way. The Lodge will be open. #valleyspur #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan ... See MoreSee Less

FROM Friends of Valley Spur >> 1/10, and John is grooming all trails but H. We didn't get new snow over night, but the temps are below freezing. John reports it looks pretty good but there is some equipment tracks on the skate lanes. We all need to help pick up sticks on the ski trails. Please don't ski by them. These sticks can destroy our grooming equipment. The lodge will be open today. #valleyspur #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan ... See MoreSee Less

FROM Friends of Valley Spur >> 1/9 we got a winter mix that is slush. The temperature needs to drop before grooming can start. Maybe tomorrow we will be able to groom at least that's what the forecast is looking like. The lodge won't be open today. #valleyspur #SkiMichigan ... See MoreSee Less
