XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/04

Ribs and Blues was a ton of fun yesterday, with great live music, fantastic food, and lots of sunshine and skiers. 18 people showed up for the 4:00 Free Ski Lesson!

Conditions were very skiable and enjoyed by quite a few skiers yesterday, many of whom were brand new to cross country skiing! We were able to Ginzu groom the first third of the John Deere loop, and with the fresh manmade snow plus the power-tilling, the skiing was surprisingly good on the majority of the trail. However, with the thaw from warm temps yesterday afternoon, plus the freezing temps overnight, we do not recommend skiing until we have a chance to grind up the ice this morning. Tractor Mike will commence power-tilling this morning, and will probably have the trail ground up enough to ski on by about 11:00 or noon. We made even more snow last night, which we will continue to spread along the trail throughout the coming week.
