Hanson Hills Cross Country Ski Report – 11/30
Classic Day on the Nordic Trails!
We picked up another 4–5 inches of snow overnight, because apparently winter heard we were grooming and said, “Add more.” ❄️
Short grooming day, but here’s what got the fresh treatment:
• Yellow Loop – Skate & Classic
• Green Loop – Classic
• Easy Return – Skate & Classic
Skate deck is soft, so expect that “extra cozy cushion” feel under your skis. 😄
As for Tubing & Downhill—we’re not ghosting you. Tentative opening is December 20th, but if conditions let us open earlier, you’ll be the first to know!

Groomer Dan is out this morning combing the trail system and freshening things up for the day.
🚴 Fat Bike Trail Update:
Groomer Mark made a late-night pass—the trail is firm and fast. Prime riding conditions!
⛷️ Downhill & Tubing Update:
Downhill and tubing operations will resume Friday, January 16th from 4:00–9:00 PM for our Friday Night Specials:
• $5 Lift Tickets
• $25 Rentals
• $15 Tubing Sessions

🎿 Nordic Trail Update:
It’s 34° and raining in Grayling this morning. Groomer Dan was able to comb Red, Yellow, Brown, and Blue with the Tidd Tech early, but pulled off the trails once the rain began.
At this point, it’s best to stay off the Nordic trails to avoid unnecessary rutting. The good news—our base is holding up great, and this light rainfall should not cause any long-term issues. Fingers crossed the forecasted snow arrives tomorrow to freshen things right back up.

Yellow, Brown, Blue, Green, and M-93 were groomed with set tracks yesterday and are receiving fresh corduroy this morning—fantastic skiing conditions.
🔴 Red Trail:
Cleared and combed early. Expect soft, slower conditions as it continues to settle in.

We’re kicking off Hoppers and Snowboard Academy—let the learning (and smiling) begin!

FROM Hanson Hills >> Temporary Winter Operations Closure
Due to unseasonably warm temperatures and rain, our snow conditions have deteriorated. While overall coverage is still looking very good, operating equipment or allowing user traffic on our trails and runs at this time is not advised.
We are optimistic that colder overnight temperatures will help freeze the moisture currently saturated in the base and allow our grooming team to get back to work. Rest assured, we will be doing everything possible to prepare the snow and open operations this weekend.
This is not how we wanted to kick off our Friday night specials—but Mother Nature sometimes has other plans. These decisions are never easy, and they are made with the long-term quality of our trails and the experience of our guests in mind.
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to monitor conditions and will share updates as soon as we are able.
Guests with tubing reservations will be contacted by a member of our team to discuss rebooking or refund options.
