XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/26

Good morning and happy Friday! Tractor Bob worked tirelessly to spread snow out on the icy spots of the John Deere Trail, as well as the extension which goes one-way out to Trapper’s Cabin. He will be grooming the entire trail this morning, and we expect great results! The skiing on the practice area is still great for demos and lessons. All trails are open for rock skiing and snowshoeing. We are looking forward to Full Moon Night Skiing tonight, and are ready for a fun weekend of skiing!

Forecast:

Today: Sunshine and clouds mixed. High near 45F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight: Cloudy. Slight chance of a shower late. Low 39F. Winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph.

Tomorrow: Cloudy. High near 40F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph.

Tonight, join us for Full Moon Night Skiing and experience the magic of winter at nighttime! Ski along the Trappers Cabin trail, which is lit with rustic torches on this magical evening under the night sky. Enjoy a bonfire and free hot cocoa at Trapper’s Cabin, and venture out on the other trails under the light of the moon if you dare! (Or, bring/rent a headlamp.) Skiers who need to rent skis or snowshoes for Full Moon Night Skiing only (between 6:00 – 8:00pm) may do so for $12. Join us for an evening you’ll never forget!
Today’s Stone Turtle Cafe Lunch Special is the El Gordo Panini! Sliced ham, provolone cheese, banana peppers, tomato, red, onion, spinach and BACON, plus mayo and mustard on a ciabatta bun, served with Great Lakes Chips and a pickle.

Also on the docket for this weekend is Get your Fill at the Grill – Fire on the Mountain! A sun deck barbecue featuring lean beef burgers, salmon burgers, and black bean veggie burgers, grilled to perfection and topped to your liking. Join us for the Free Ski Lesson tomorrow and every Saturday at 4:00pm!

See you at HQ!
