Vasa Trail Cross Country Ski Report – 01/31
9:15 am from the Trailhead – The good news is that there’s about 2” of fresh thick snow on the trail and it’s very skiable (I didn’t use rock skis and it was fine). However, it is very sloooowww; about 1 min/K slower than usual.
It’s solid ice under the snow and so some pole plants skid off and in some places where the snow is thin there’s an instant burst of speed that has caused at least one minor wipe out today 😬.
They still hadn’t groomed as of 11:00 am and I’m sure they have their reasons, but in the end, there’s a decent amount of new snow and it’s definitely skiable. If anybody has updates later today or tomorrow morning feel free to post. Ski on!
