XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/11

The ski conditions were great again yesterday, and the fresh snowfall we got last night and will continue to get throughout the day today will only make it better! We are forecast for 1 to 3 inches today, and Groomer Mike will begin grooming this morning, and will re-groom later in the day if needed. The trails are in very good to excellent shape for skating and classic skiing, with classic tracks and smooth, corduroy skating lanes on all trails. It’s looking like a winter wonderland kind of day on the trails!

Forecast:

Today: Snow this morning will transition to snow showers this afternoon. High 24F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 90%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.

Tonight: A few clouds. Low 8F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow: ntervals of clouds and sunshine. High 19F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Today’s Stone Turtle Cafe lunch special is famous Paella, a scrumptious concoction of saffron rice, shrimp, chicken, and veggies, cooked outdoors over open flame! This traditional Spanish dish is just as much fun to watch being cooked as it is to eat. Chef Missy will be cooking up a storm on the sun deck today, so feel free to come say hello and check it out! You don’t want to miss this most special XC Ski HQ lunch tradition, served today at 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Buying tickets in advance isn’t a bad idea.

It’s perfect weather to demo some skis! We still have many high end racing skate skis, currently on super sale! Or, try some of the ever popular skin skis to take your classic skiing to a new level.

Great job to all Vasa racers, and good luck to the Gran Travers skiers today! Get outside and enjoy this beautiful winter day.

– Mariah, Stu, Bob, Lynne, Fran, Matt, Kelsey, Alex, Dodge, Kim, Missy, Annie J., Annie B., Denny, Erin, Mike, Dana, Butch, Brian and the crew
