XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/28
The Roscommon Youth Ski Team has been having a ball on the HQ ski trails and practice area for the past 3 days!
The sun and warm weather have taken a toll on the ski trails, but we’re still holding on! The John Deere Loop and practice area has had skiers on it every day. Right now the John Deere Loop has coverage but at this point is very much a mix of slush and ice, with smatterings of snow. However, once temps get back down tonight and tomorrow night, and the moisture on the trails freezes, we will be able to till up the trail surface and make it more skiable for the weekend. The practice area is very skiable, and has worked great these last few days for demos. We are also forecast to receive 1-3 inches of snow tomorrow, which would put us in very good shape for this weekend’s festivities!

A favorite tradition at Cross Country Ski Headquarters, Ribs & Blues celebrates live music from the West Side Blues Band, made up of local artists Don Mick and Dan McCullough. Enjoy what is surely some of the best barbeque in all the land: German Dave’s famous slow cooked barbequed ribs, cooked over our outdoor fire pit by German Dave himself! Kick back to the tunes of some truly talented blues musicians in a festive, outdoor atmosphere, while feasting on succulent ribs, scalloped potatoes, and cole slaw. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 8 and younger.
