Boyne Highlands Snow Report – 11/06

GUNS FIRING!  The wee hours of Saturday morning brought temps low enough for us to fire up more than 80 guns at Boyne Highlands and oh what a beautiful sight.  Count on these guns roaring at every chance… first tracks of the 2010/11 are surely in your very near future!

The last month has kept us busy with preparations for the winter season and we can’t wait for the season to begin!  Slopes have been mowed, snow guns are in position, lines tested and all systems are set to go.  We are eagerly awaiting these night of low temperatures and a hearty helping of natural snow would be nice too.  New this winter, we’ve added more Boyne Low-E fan guns to our snowmaking fleet.  The proprietary technology in the Low-E guns allows us to make more snow, more efficiently and at marginal temperatures.  This is extremely beneficial in helping us get the early start we’re all dreaming of.  For park fans, six new features are in store this season; our new Twin Zip provides the longest single zipline ride in the state; and our cafeteria has gone green.

We’re targeting Thanksgiving weekend to open.  What are you up for?  Please check back soon for updates.
