XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 12/20

Greetings from the North Woods! Despite marginal conditions, we have been making progress, and here is the trail update. Trail Doctor Iain has been working tirelessly this week to beat down the mole runs on the trails, and get them as flat and clear as possible to prepare for more snow.

With a very smooth trail surface, the goal is that we’ll be able to groom even with just a couple inches of fresh snow, which we may very well receive next week. Tractor Bob has also been delivering piles of man-made snow to the Trapper’s Cabin trail in order to patch up any bare spots.

However, with the amount of sunshine and warm temps we have received over the past few days, the conditions across the street are marginal to poor. Due to the rain in today’s weather forecast, we recommend enjoying all of your skiing on the the fantastic conditions of the practice area. The field and both hills have full coverage man-made snow, perfect for lessons, demos, or just skiing around and working on technique.

We are forecast to receive snow tomorrow, and we will send out another update during the day as conditions hopefully improve!

We have GREAT events coming up this weekend, regardless of the weather!
