The Roscommon Junior Nordic Ski Team enjoyed a Christmas-themed practice yesterday in great conditions on the practice area!

We received about an inch of snow last night. While more is still needed for good skiing on the trails across the street, it did give the practice area a nice little boost! Once temps cool enough we will start to make snow across the street. There is more snow in the forecast for next week, too, so if the stars align we may have good skiing right around the corner!

In the meantime, there is no shortage of fun to be had at XC Ski HQ! Today, Santa Claus is coming to town, and will host a bonfire with hot cocoa, roasted chestnuts (and marshmallows) for all visitors. Join him from 12pm to 3pm! We also have a lunch special of Gourmet Hammy Sammy: oven roasted ham, Swiss cheese, sliced tomato and stone ground mustard, served melty and hot on a crusty Swiss bun!

Tomorrow, Sunday, don’t miss Live Music with George Silvercrow in the Stone Turtle Cafe! George’s folksy acoustic guitar music goes perfectly with a crackling fire, a beverage and a delicious lunch from the Cafe kitchen. Enjoy from 1pm to 3pm.
