XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/01

Happy Snowy New Year! It’s a Winter Wonderland at Cross Country Ski Headquarters this morning, after receiving 5 inches of heavy, dense snow last night. Groomer Bob is rolling all the trails with the packer-roller this morning, and it’s looking just great out there! The ground underneath the snow is still very wet from the rain we got before the big snow, so we will not be setting tracks or using the Ginzu groomer on the skate lanes today. With the very cold temps forecast for tonight, though, we expect it to firm up nicely, and plan to set tracks and Ginzu groom first thing tomorrow morning.

All trails are open for classic and skating today! Classic skiing is recommended due to the soft conditions.

The Stone Turtle Cafe lunch special is the Turkey Trot Panini! Oven roasted turkey breast, provolone cheese, tomato, spinach, and red onion with mayo and mustard, served on multi grain bread with chips and a pickle!

It’s just beautiful out there! Bring your family and friends and enjoy this GLORIOUS Pure Michigan day on the snow!!

-Mariah, Stu, Bob, Lynne, Erin, Matt, Missy, Molly, Gill, Annie, Annie, Josh, Grant and the crew
