Partly Sunny with very light winds today, still plenty of fresh tracks to be had all over the hill! WELCOME TO TELEFEST!

Welcome to all the Tele Skiers for TeleFest weekend! Mother Nature is also extending greetings in the form of 9" to 12" of fresh powder Thursday night into Friday!

Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park - the "Porkies"

The Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is currently accepting applications for the 2019 season.

A variety of exciting and challenging opportunities await you.

We fill positions in a variety of fields, including visitor services, maintenance, janitorial, campgrounds and backcountry. All focus on working with the public and some focus on working outdoors. Each job performs a vital function of providing visitors a memorable experience, while working to preserve the unique resources and creating the next generation of park stewards.

Available work locations at the Porkies are: the visitor center, Union Bay Campground and Lake of the Clouds in Ontonagon County. Presque Isle Campground is available in Gogebic County (County Road 519 North of Wakefield).

Applications for Lake Gogebic State Park in Gogebic County are also being accepted.

Applications are available at park headquarters (33303 Headquarters Rd., Ontonagon, MI 49953) open daily, including weekends 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. EST, or online at Michigan.gov/dnr click on about us then job opportunities.

Application Deadline is 4:00 p.m. March 6, 2019. For additional information you may call 906-885-5275, ext 0, or email penegorg@michigan.gov or knackm@michigan.gov.
