XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/20

The Mason Tract, about 9 miles northeast of XC Ski HQ, runs along the AuSable River and offers a truly stunning XC skiing experience.

Ski conditions remain in great shape on the HQ trails. Groomer Mike is snow combing the skate lanes early this morning. Classic tracks are still in very good shape as well. The snow in today’s forecast should help cover up the oak leaves in the tracks! Snow depth in the woods is 24 to 27 inches, and packed on the trail about 13 to 15 inches. Enjoy these great conditions!

Weather forecast:
Today: Snow showers early will become steadier snow for the afternoon. High 27F. Winds ESE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 90%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.
Tonight: Snow will taper off and end this evening but skies will remain cloudy late. Some mixed winter precipitation possible. Low 26F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 80%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.
Tomorrow: Cloudy. High 29F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph.

Today’s Stone Turtle Day Lodge Cafe Lunch Special is the Gourmet Grilled Cheese Panini! Swiss, provolone, basil pesto, and sliced tomato grilled to perfection on herb focaccia bread. Served with Great Lakes Chips and a Pickle!
