We couldn’t ask for better conditions than what we have right now!

Conditions are perfect. Deep set tracks remain in excellent shape. Groomer Mike snow combed the skate lanes yesterday evening, so all trails are groomed and ready this morning. Snow depth in the woods is 24 to 28 inches, and packed on the trail about 14 to 16 inches. It’s going to be another beautiful day out there!

Today: Partly cloudy this morning, then becoming cloudy during the afternoon. High 36F. Winds ESE at 10 to 20 mph.
Tonight: Freezing rain this evening…mixing with rain later. Low 28F. Winds ESE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of precip 100%. Snow and ice accumulations less than one inch.
Tomorrow: Rain and snow in the morning transitioning to snow showers in the afternoon. Temps nearly steady in the mid 30s. Winds WSW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of precip 90%.

Today’s Stone Turtle Day Lodge Cafe Lunch Special is a Grilled Cheese Sandwich and a Bowl of Chili! Swiss and provolone cheese melted between two slices of bread and grilled to perfection, along side (or dunked into) a bowl of Classic or Chipotle Veggie Chili. We have lots of other panini sandwiches on the menu as well!

Join us Today for a Free Ski Lesson at 10:30am, and the Michigan Cup Relays on Sunday!

Michigan Cup Relays – Sunday, March 10th: Join us for one of the most exciting and entertaining ski races in Michigan! This grand finale race for the Michigan Cup Race Series features a relay race with 3 skiers per team: 2 legs freestyle, one leg classic; approximately 4-6km per leg. You do not have to be a Michigan Cup racer to participate! If you do not have a team but would still like to ski, we will try to find a team for you. Registration starts at 9:30am, and the race starts at 11:00am. The entry Fee is $20 per racer. All entrees score Team Points.

After the Relays, stick around for the awards ceremony on the sun deck, and enjoy a hearty post-race meal of house-made BBQ pork sandwiches, black bean veggie burgers, vanishing scalloped potatoes, cookies, and $2 pints. This post-race meal is included in the race registration fee. Each racer will also receive an official XC Ski HQ pint glass!
