XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/19

Spring skiing conditions prevail on the HQ trails, with fast and fun conditions in the morning until the trail surface softens up in the afternoon. Groomer Mike is snow combing all trails this morning. As usual this time of year, some icy spots are appearing in some of the heavily skied areas, so please walk out past the trail head ice to get started. Also, the Manitou trail has several considerable ice bridges, and should be avoided unless you are comfortable traversing sections of glare ice. Conditions change on a daily basis this time of year, so watch out for bits of debris on the trail underneath the big trees, and exercise caution when skiing down all hills!

Today’s lunch special is Rocky Mountain Chipotle Turkey Sandwich! Oven roasted turkey, Swiss cheese, chipotle mayo, spinach, onion, bell peppers and tomato, grilled to perfection on hearty grain bread. Great Lakes Chips and a pickle come alongside. Add an oatmeal raisin cookie and you won’t regret it!

Ski on!
