XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/23

This skier enjoyed the afternoon sun yesterday, even remarking that while the late-day snow was soft, skiing on it was “better than doing nothing!”

After a chilly night and a few snow flurries yesterday, Groomer Mike will snow comb the Rolling Hills, Mackinaw Cut, Wild Turkey, Trapper’s Cabin, and Adventure trails this morning, and while there are no classic tracks, we are happy to report full coverage and no bare spots on those trails. Conditions will be fast this morning, on ground up snow crystals with some occasionally hard pack. The trails will soften up as temps get warmer in the afternoon. Manitou and Tall Pines are not recommended due to ice and debris, but much of the rest of the trail system still offers some great spring ski conditions! *Please walk out past the ice at the trail head to start skiing.

Today’s lunch special is the Wild Turkey Roll! Oven roasted turkey breast, provolone cheese, pesto, tomato and onion served hot and melty on a Swiss roll. Choose from a variety of delicious beverages to make it a perfect ski day meal!

The Spring Sale is on! Shop 30% off Mens and Womens Swix Menali Jackets, as well as Skhoop, Mountain Hardwear, and Smartwool Skirts. Plus, 25% off Mens and Womens Louis Garneau Cove Hybrid Jackets. Free ski demos every day!
