XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/26

Not bad for late March!!

While yesterday was sunny, it also stayed cold, which helped to preserve the snow pack on the trail system. It got well below freezing again last night, so Mike will Ginzu the Rolling Hills, Mackinaw Cut, Wild Turkey, Trapper’s Cabin, and Adventure trails later this morning. The majority of these trails are covered in fun, fast, controllable ground-up old snow. There are some occasional small but manageable icy spots, but it’s easy to ski right over them and still have a great time. There are no classic tracks, and there is one bare spot beginning to open up on the Adventure trail. Manitou and Tall Pines are not recommended due to ice and debris. Good to great spring skiing awaits!

Today’s lunch special is the Spring Panini! Hummus, Baby spinach, sliced tomato, red onion, sundried tomatoes, bell peppers, Swiss cheese and dijon mustard, grilled to perfection on hearty grain bread. Served with Great Lakes Chips and a pickle!

The Spring Sale is on! Shop 30% off Mens and Womens Swix Menali Jackets, as well as Skhoop, Mountain Hardwear, and Smartwool Skirts. Plus, 25% off Mens and Womens Louis Garneau Cove Hybrid Jackets. Shop Closeout race equipment from Fischer, Rossignol and Salomon, and demo equipment for free every day!

Ski on while you still can!

-Mariah, Stu, Bob, Lynne, Erin, Matt, Missy, Gillian, Molly, Annie H., Katrina, Annie B., Grant, Josh, Michelle, Krista, Crystal, Mike, Butch, Tony and the crew
