Forbush Corner Cross Country Ski Report – 11/08

Thanks to a very generous donation and a lot of hard work over the off-season, Forbush Corner is now equipped with a fully functioning snow making system.

We will continue to make more snow today and tonight and plan to start grooming tomorrow. Because we are new to this process we are not exactly sure how long it will take to push mounds of snow and groom trails. We are hoping to have some trails available this weekend. Stay tuned for further updates and a grooming report.

Larry is out tilling the snowmaking loop and hopes to put in some nice classic tracks. He spent three days knocking down the snow piles. Thank you Larry for your dedication. We now have a 12+ inch base on our snowmaking loop. You can use good skis on the snowmaking loop, but will need rock skis for the ridge trail and badlands. We rolled them, but the snow is thin. Larry and Howard will be making snow in the valley tonight. Should be some good skiing this weekend. ... See MoreSee Less

We are making progress knocking down the huge piles of snow we made. However, we still have a long way to go. I’ll continue to update everyone about the weekend. We are still trying to figure out the new system which apparently can make a lot of snow under the right conditions! ... See MoreSee Less
