The food, beer, outfits, and great company of Erin and German Dave were a major hit at the first annual Bavarian Ski Festival!

It is safe to say that the XC Ski HQ skiers and crew red-lined the fun meter yesterday at the first annual Bavarian Ski Festival. Misty conditions in the morning turned to beautiful, giant snowfall in the afternoon. Over 50 people attended the free ski lesson Saturday morning, and many enjoyed skiing on soft yet dense, beautiful white snow. German Dave and Erin ran the outdoor Bavarian Food and Beer tent, serving sausages, sauerkraut, Hofbrau, and giant soft pretzels to hungry skiers. The grand finale was the Stein Holding Competition, which was wildly entertaining for participants and spectators. We already can’t wait for next year’s Bavarian Ski Festival!

We received fresh snow during the day yesterday, and more overnight. Groomer Mike will attempt to snowcomb the trails this morning and reset tracks where needed, but will cease his efforts if the snow is too soft. The great news is that the trails have full snow coverage and conditions, while a little slow, are still great. There are 5 to 7 inches of snow packed on the trails, and 6 to 10 inches in the woods.
