Schuss Mountain

Schuss Mtn is open today 9am to 9pm with 42 of 43 slopes open. (Snow making continues on Ivan’s Alley.) There will be 5 lifts servicing all runs today—the Yellow, Pink, Purple, and Red quad chair lifts. Over on the bunny hill the Magic Carpet is running. Red at 4:15pm. All others at 9pm. Temps will be seasonally cooler today. The snow is crisp this morning and should remain firm throughout the day.
The LMC high school ski meet will be on the slopes of Kingdom Come starting this afternoon at 1pm. While closed for racing, "The Face" will re-open once racing finishes, likely around 4pm.
Summit Mountain
Updated Monday, Jan 27. The Black Lift has closed for the midweek, and we re-open on Friday along with the Alpine Tubing Park.
If you’re aware of micro-climate science, you probably understand why snow making conditions for Summit and Schuss can be radically different despite being within a few miles of each other. That’s because until Lake Bellaire freezes, the humidity coming off the lake can alter wet bulb measurements causing snowmaking to be much more difficult and challenging (than at Schuss). Humidity can also increase air temps by 2-4 degrees.
