Shanty Creek Snow Report – 02/01

Schuss Mountain

Updated Saturday, February 1

Today is the annual White Pine Stampede, Michigan’s oldest and longest point-to-point Nordic race.

Schuss Mtn is open today 9am to 9pm with 100% of its slopes open. There will be 8 lifts servicing all runs today—the Yellow, Blue, Pink, Purple, and Red quad chair lifts. Over on the bunny hill the Magic Carpet is running along with a handle tow, and at Low Rider a handle tow. The Red closes at 4:15pm, Blue at 4:30pm. All others at 9pm.

Note: Sally’s Alley and Chicken’s Choice will be closed during the morning hours because the Stampede’s race route for 20k and 50k will be accessing portions of Schuss Mtn.

Summit Mountain will be open 10am-10pm today with four runs and the Black lift, and the Alpine Tubing Park is also open 10am-10pm.

Sections of the Nordic trails will be closed to the general public during the morning and early afternoon. Shawn has a modified trail map in the Nordic Center for those not racing in WPS.
