Vasa Trail Cross Country Ski Report – 02/04

James and Dave are on the trail this morning renovating the skate lane and putting up all the signage for this weekends Vasa race. They are leaving the existing classic tracks which will be pulverized tomorrow and reset. If you ski this morning before noon keep an eye and ear out for the groomers.

Looks like temps will remain at or below freezing right through the weekend and maybe some new snow Thursday. Even 1 or 2 inches would really help freshen up the base.

As a safety reminder, because of the bit of extra work that goes into prepping the Vasa for the race on Saturday and Sunday, the groomers and their equipment may be out on the trail working during daylight hours. Often we are stopped in the trail putting up a sign or filling holes. So please watch out especially when going down hills. We also keep an eye for skiers and try to be a cautious as possible.
Thank you, Glen
