Heated competition at the 4H Olympics yesterday! This great group of kids learned XC skiing during a 6 week program, which culminated with ski races, awards, and hot dog roast. Hats off to this great group of skiers, and their awesome coaches, Brian, Wendy and Ethan!

The trails are absolutely marvelous, and conditions for classic and skating are excellent on all trails. Groomer Mike will snow comb the skate lanes this morning. Classic tracks are set on all trails and are in fantastic shape. There are 6 to 8 inches of snow packed on the trails, and 8 to 14 inches in the woods. It doesn’t get any better than this!

This Friday: Join us for Winter Fest Night Skiing!

From 5:30pm to 7:30pm this Friday, Feb 14th, skiers and snowshoers can enjoy a groomed, lit trail out to and back from Trapper’s Cabin, where a bonfire and hot cocoa await. Equipment rentals are available anytime before 7:00pm. Your purchase of a Winter Fest badge ($5 – available at XC Ski HQ) is your ticket to night skiing, as well as lots of other fun events throughout the weekend in the Higgins Lake area! Winter Fest ski/snowshoe rental rate is $5.
