We received another 1+ inches of snow last night. The trails are in best-of-the-season condition, with smooth, corduroy skate lanes and beautiful classic tracks. Groomer Butch will snow comb the skate lanes this morning and reset tracks where needed. There are 6 to 8 inches of snow packed on the trails, and 8 to 14 inches in the woods. This Weekend: Winter Fest Night Skiing, Skate Ski Clinic, and Gourmet Chili Bar!

Winter Fest Night Skiing: From 5:30pm to 7:30pm this Friday, Feb 14th, skiers and snowshoers can enjoy a groomed, lit trail out to and back from Trapper’s Cabin, where a bonfire and hot cocoa await. Equipment rentals are available anytime before 7:00pm. Your purchase of a Winter Fest badge ($5 – available at XC Ski HQ) is your ticket to night skiing, as well as lots of other fun events throughout the weekend in the Higgins Lake area! Winter Fest ski/snowshoe rental rate is $5.

Plus, join us for a Learn to Skate Ski Clinic with Wendy Anderson! Have you been thinking about trying skate skiing, but aren’t sure how to get into it? Join us for our Learn How to Skate Ski Clinic, which includes a 3 hour skate ski rental, Facilities Pass, and 90 minute group skate ski lesson with amazing instructor Wendy Anderson. Cost is $35 ($20 for BYO Equipment). The lesson starts at 1:00pm, and skiers are welcome to pick up rental equipment as early as 12:00pm. Warning, you may become a skate skiing addict! Space is limited – Sign up here! And don’t forget, the Gourmet Chili Bar is on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from noon to 4:00pm at the Stone Turtle Cafe and Day Lodge!
