XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/25

Groomer Mike is snowcombing the skate lanes this morning after another night of the snow crisping up. Most of the snow surface is finely ground up crust, which makes for fast and fun conditions. Butch attempted to reset tracks yesterday on some of the trails, which are in OK shape. There are 5 to 7 inches of snow packed on the trails, and 8 to 12 inches in the woods. Let it snow!

The Stone Turtle Cafe is open for lunch! Warm up with a bowl of Classic or Chipotle Veggie Chili, or treat yourself to a Pesto Perfection panini. Fresh baked cookies are on the menu too – enjoy a post-ski meal in front of the crackling fire!

It’s the last week of February, which means spring skiing is right around the corner! It’s the perfect time of year to try out a back country ski package, or surf the spring crust on some skate skis. Book a ski lesson with one of our awesome instructors, or demo some skis for free, any day of the week. A ski fitting expert is always available to help get you into the right equipment!

Have fun out there!
