XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/27

We received a dusting of snow last night, and we are forecast to receive more throughout the day today and tomorrow. Groomer Butch will snowcomb the skate lanes this morning. The fresh snow in the skate lanes, mixed with the ground up snow pack, will make for some really nice skate conditions. The fresh dusting in the tracks will improve conditions for classic as well. There are 5 to 7 inches of snow packed on the trails, and 8 to 12 inches in the woods. Let it snow!

Join us This Saturday for Ribs & Blues!

A favorite XC Ski HQ tradition, Ribs & Blues features an afternoon of fantastic live music from Rhett’s Eastside Blues Duo, as well as German Dave’s famous BBQ ribs. It’s a perfect day to hit the trails, then kick back by the outdoor fire pit and enjoy great music and outstanding ribs, scalloped potatoes, and coleslaw for $10 ($5 for kids 8 and younger). Music and food starts at 1:00pm! Plus, don’t miss the Free Beginner Ski Lesson on Saturday at 10:30am.

For today, stop in for lunch at the Stone Turtle Cafe! Warm up with a bowl of Classic or Chipotle Veggie Chili, or treat yourself to Bob’s Favorite Tuna panini. Fresh baked cookies and decadent Bosco cheesy breadsticks are on the menu too. Quench your thirst with a craft beer or cocktail, like the Fireside Cider, made with hot apple cider, cinnamon whiskey, and a giant cinnamon stick!
