XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/29
Did you know that a complimentary mini ski lesson is available anytime you rent skis at XC Ski HQ? This group of sisters learned the basics from Missy yesterday, including getting up from a fall, climbing, and going down hills!
Happy Leap Year Day! And what fabulous Leap Year Day conditions we have… Since the start of the winter storm on Wednesday, we have received about 5 inches of snow. Groomer Mike is snow combing the skating lanes and setting classic tracks on all the trails. With temps in the mid-20’s today, it will be an ideal day for cross country skiing. There are 6 to 8 inches of snow packed on the trails, and 10 to 14 inches in the woods. Join us today for awesome skiing, plus a beloved HQ tradition: Ribs & Blues!

A favorite XC Ski HQ tradition, Ribs & Blues features an afternoon of fantastic live music from Rhett’s Eastside Blues Duo, as well as German Dave’s famous BBQ ribs. It’s a perfect day to hit the trails, then kick back by the outdoor fire pit and enjoy great music and outstanding ribs, scalloped potatoes, and coleslaw for $10 ($5 for kids 8 and younger). Music and food starts at 1:00pm! Plus, don’t miss the Free Beginner Ski Lesson today at 10:30am.

It’s the last day of February, which means spring skiing is right around the corner! It’s the perfect time of year to try out a back country ski package, or surf the spring crust on some skate skis.
