Some of the HQ crew took a sunset ski last night, and the skating was just wonderful!

Temps have remained below freezing for the past couple nights for most of the day yesterday, and the snow on most of the trail surface is in very good condition. Groomer Mike will snowcomb the skating lanes on all the trails this morning. Classic tracks are quite entrenched into the trail surface, with some good sections and many crunchy sections. The skate lanes are largely in great condition, with some sections faster than others, and some small bits of debris starting to show in various places under the big pines. Some thin spots are starting to appear as well, but can easily be skied around. There are 4 to 8 inches of snow packed on the trails, and 8 to 12 inches in the woods. Let it snow!

This Weekend:

Friday 5:30-7:30pm: Full Moon Night Skiing! Skiers and snowshoers can enjoy a groomed, lit trail out to Trapper’s Cabin, where a bonfire and hot cocoa await. Equipment rentals are available anytime before 7:00pm.

Saturday: Free Beginner Ski Lesson at 10:30am, plus Sponsor Appreciation Day! All Season Trail Sponsors are welcome to a bowl of chili and warm roll, on the house.

Sunday: Michigan Cup Relays! The grand finale of the Michigan Cup Race Series, this 3-person relay race is open to the public. If you don’t have a team, you are welcome to race anyway, and we will do our best to find a team for you! Registration starts at 9:30am, and the race starts at 11:00am. Awards, lunch, and festivities to follow.
