Vasa Trail Cross Country Ski Report – 03/06

Here at the trail head temps are hovering around 31 degrees, wind is howling from the north and just a slight amount of wet snow has fallen. The trail is a bit crunchy on the surface but wet underneath. We are holding off grooming today until the trail dries up and refreezes.

Very cold temps are forecast for early tomorrow morning. If this holds true we will most likely groom late tonight. As usual I will keep you posted.
Peace, Glen

This just in!

Good Morning once again Badgers,

Its not often that I put out a ski report but I thought the questionable trails conditions called for it. After making the tough decision not to groom this morning I put my skate skis on and did a lap of the 10k which included the "Hair Pin" and the 5k. I was pleasantly surprised when I found pletty of control and slowish to moderate speeds. The 1/2 inch of new snow really helped make the ski enjoyable. The classic tracks are still well formed and have leaves in them but with the new snow I found them fun on the down hills. Conditions will change as the day progresses but I think if your itching to get out today is the day. So giddy up 🙂.

Peace,

Glen
