We had an amazing time together today at Yoga on the Mount. We came together as community to support one another and 100% of class proceeds will benefit the family of 4 year old Hadleigh (Haddie) Banks who is battling Systemic Mastocytosis. Thank you to everyone who made this event so special!

ABOUT HADLEIGH:
Hadleigh will be turning 4 this summer. She lives with her parents and her 11 year old brother Keaton. Haddie has Systemic Mastocytosis. Masto is a rare, incurable bone marrow disease. About 1 in 200,000. She was diagnosed at 2 months old and was originally given a lifespan of 2-13 years. She is at high risk daily for anaphylaxis. This disease is also prone to developing into several types of leukemia. She has thousands of itchy lesions all over her body and can react to anything from odors such as perfume, walking in the grass, sweating, crying and even bathing. She is both heat and cold intolerant with heat and humidity affecting her the most we spend most of our lives inside, especially during the warmer months. She has symptoms ranging from itching, flushing, gastric pain, diarrhea, headaches, bone pain and more. She takes two special compound prescription medications daily, lots of plant based supplements along with epi injections and Benadryl as needed. All not covered by insurance. She is under the care of a team at U of M Mott Children's hospital that includes an immunology/allergy group and oncology. Haddie's mom, Mandie, left her teaching job to stay home and care for her and now homeschools her as she cannot attend public school. Hadleigh's dad, Josh, works at Mt. Holly. There is a website dedicated to awareness of her, our family and her disease along with updates and photos. www.hope4hadleigh.com
