Forbush Corner Cross Country Ski Report – 03/21

Thank you Sara Cockrell for the photos. It was a nice day of skiing today, on the groomed and ungroomed trails.

We will regroom tomorrow morning. Open at 9 am.

Baby it’s cold out there this morning!

Grooming could be slow due to the single digit temperatures. Larry is working on the east side trails. The base is still good and should groom up for some nice skiing.

The shop is opened for LIMITED ACCESS ONLY, sign in and bathroom use. If you are not feeling well stay home. Skiing outside is a good way to stay sane, but please respect the health of others.

Projects continue at the shop. The inside jobs are almost finished. The new flooring is almost all installed, thanks Mike. The interior walls have been painted, the exterior doors have been painted, and the hutch was cleaned, varnished and painted, thanks Ann. Next will be the outside jobs. Mike already started replacing the deck boards. Still need to paint the trim, paint the new ski racks, fix up some siding, replace more boards and then paint the decks. Thanks to Tom and Ivy Schwartz for helping us load up the trailer to take to the dump and some painting help and thanks to Todd for doing the demolition on the old fourth bathroom. ... Getting to some projects around the corner. Repairing deck, ski racks, and a new ski rack planned near the warming room. Ongoing projects include scraping and staining the deck and shop, installing vinyl flooring in the kitchen and kitchen bathroom, maybe scrape and stain the warming room deck. Also hauling rocks to stabilize erosion area on the snowmaking loop. Trail work probably in the fall. Typical pruning and stick pick up. Looking at rerouting the exit of Ridge trail to join into the valley loop so as not to cross the snowmaking loop. Nothing organized at this point, but if you want to spend a day helping out come on out. Always something to do ! ... See MoreSee Less
