Forbush Corner Cross Country Ski Report – 12/24
We are just going to have the 2km snow making loop open today. We need a couple inches of new snow to groom up the other trails. Some lake effect snow possible tomorrow and tomorrow night. Parking lot is very icy. We are trying to grind it up, but please be careful.

Larry is going to start grooming the man made loop first. Then he will see how the grooming goes on the other east side trails. We are hoping that the 3 inches of snow from Monday that wasn’t groomed on Tuesday protected the base by absorbing the brunt of the rain and melting from Wednesday. We are open today 9am to 5 pm.

Covid guidelines reminder:
-masks are required at all times in all buildings
-no indoor dining is allowed/you may eat on the decks or around the fire pits
-building capacity is 10 people at a time. Please limit your time indoors to 20 minutes or less
-if you are part of a larger group, please have one member come inside to check in. If it is busy you may have to wait in your car until it is your turn. We will set up a list and text you when we can accommodate you in the shop.

The new snow should groom up really well and make for some great skiing this week. We did receive some ice before the storm which created some leaning trees that will need to be removed and will slow down the grooming. The plan is to do the east side trails and pines loop. Time permitting we will also do the west side. It will take some time to get the grooming completed. FROM Forbush Corner Cross-Country Skiing >> The good news. We are getting some decent snow. However, conditions are hazardous due the winds and blowing snow. We are planning on opening, but not until NOON, so please do not come out any earlier than that. We are thinking about maybe grooming Badlands, as it is out of the wind. Tough sledding today. There will be some thin spots and scattered debris in the woods, but overall trails are tracked over a solid skate deck. Based on the rainy/sleet forecast tomorrow, we expect to be CLOSED. Hopefully the snow returns Sunday night, Monday. That should set us up for a great week of skiing.
