Valley Spur Trail System Cross Country Ski Report – 01/14
Groomed skate lanes on A,B,D,X,Y,W,G return as well as the 2 middle loops on G which have Big Foots and Le Mans on them. Very skiable. Skating remains very good and the classic track is glazed but still solid.
Looks like a good chance for snow in the next couple days so we can freshen up the tracks too. We have a thin but very solid base and when we get some snow things will shape up quickly.

FROM Munising Bay Trail Network - MBTN >> We’re working on getting the snow bike loop at the upper parking lot at Valley Spur opened back up.
If you need a place to get outside and get some fresh air grab your snowshoes or wide back country skis and join the Panking party.
We’ve packed a double wide trail on the first part of the crazy 8 loop to make it easier for the groomer to make a few laps. The second loop of the figure 8 needs Panking too. The more the merrier. #valleyspur #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan

FROM Friends of Valley Spur >> Tuesday the 17th of March. The UP has been hit by a Historic Snow Storm and snow is still coming down. Very high winds (62 mile an hour) that have taken out more trees then we can count. Power is out, roads are closed and we have no idea when our kids will be back to school. The Valley Spur Committee has made a tough and the right decision to end grooming for the season. The work and financial cost it would take does not warrant our reopening. We are all sad that our ski season is being cut short. The forecast for Thursday is calling for a rain/snow mix. We have had a great season for our Passholders and Visitors and are very thankful. We can't say enough good about our Groomer John Cromell. John you are so appreciated, along with the many volunteers it takes to run Valley Spur. VS is a great community to be apart of. I don't have a total snowfall total but at least 30". I have attached a pictures of my home in down town Munising. This is after it was snowplown the day before. Locals please attach pictures so others can understand. We can't get to the Valley at this time. Stay safe and we hope you come back and ski with us next year.
