Valley Spur Trail System Cross Country Ski Report – 01/14
Groomed skate lanes on A,B,D,X,Y,W,G return as well as the 2 middle loops on G which have Big Foots and Le Mans on them. Very skiable. Skating remains very good and the classic track is glazed but still solid.
Looks like a good chance for snow in the next couple days so we can freshen up the tracks too. We have a thin but very solid base and when we get some snow things will shape up quickly.

FROM Friends of Valley Spur >> Wednesday the 4th of February and John has groomed all trails. We got at least 6 more inches of snow yesterday after John groomed. The lodge will be open. Yesterday the Tractor decided it would only work going in reverse. John had to drive it in reverse 3 miles to get it back to the trail head. We do have a warranty on the tractor. Hopefully that will be figured out soon. The old Jeep will need to keep the trails groomed. #valleyspur #SkiMichigan

Approximately 44 inches of settled snow in the woods and 18 Base inches of snow on the trails. The lodge will be open at 10 am. #valleyspur #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan

John is being hampered by branches ladened with snow and ice hitting the cab of MAGNUS, needing to stop often to cut the branches. These branches will eventually damage our equipment. We need to have a work bee to take care of this problem. Once we pick some dates to do this we will advice.
