Josh and Josie Fairbanks, XC Ski HQ rental technicians, on an evening ski with the crew after a busy day yesterday!

We received more fresh snow throughout the day yesterday, adding to the accumulation from earlier in the weekend. It should groom up really nicely today. Groomer Mike will snow comb the skating lanes and reset tracks where needed this morning. We have 8-13 inches of snow in the woods, and 3-6 inches packed on the trails. The recent snow is still clinging magnificently to the trees, and makes one feel like she or he is skiing through a painting!

The Stone Turtle Cafe is open today! Enjoy our menu of consciously crafted food and drinks on the sun deck, where a bon fire awaits.

*A note about Bavarian Ski Festival this coming Saturday: Due to the tremendous amount of new interest in cross country skiing on the weekends this winter, we feel it is in the best interest of everyone to postpone Bavarian Ski Festival on Jan 23. While we have the capacity to accommodate quite a lot of skiers at our facilities and ski trails, the added traffic of this event would make it extremely difficult to stay in accordance with the current Covid guidelines, and would put unprecedented strain on our operation. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes, and look forward to holding the event next winter!

Finally, Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! We honor this American hero and champion of freedom. May we all spend time outside today, breathing in the fresh air, looking at the trees, and experiencing our own innate freedom.
