XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/21

Live music will be played from inside this igloo on Sunday!

Conditions remain excellent, and we received more snow yesterday. We have a great base, full coverage, and excellent conditions for skating and classic skiing on all trails. Skate are freshly snow combed this morning, and classic tracks are in very good shape. We have 8-13 inches of snow in the woods, and 3-6 inches packed on the trails. Temps will be mild today and then stay cold, and we are forecast to receive snow tonight. This weekend will be fantastic, with a Free Ski Lesson, Live Music, and more!

THIS WEEKEND:

Join us Saturday for a Free Beginner Ski Lesson at 10:30am! Also, in light of having to cancel Bavarian Ski Festival (originally scheduled for Saturday), we will be having delicious German fare as a lunch special Saturday: German sausages, sauerkraut, soft pretzels, beer cheese, and German beer will be on special for hungry skiers!

Join us Sunday for Live Music with Wade Whittington from 2pm-4pm, outside on the sun deck! Wade is a fantastic musician, and plays tons of crowd pleasers. Grab a craft beer and hang by a bonfire while you listen to some great live music!

The Stone Turtle Cafe is open today! Enjoy our menu of consciously crafted food and drinks on the sun deck, where a bon fire awaits.

COMING UP: Join us for the Jordyn Ross Ski Clinics on January 30-31! There are clinics for everyone from proficient beginners to advanced skiers available. These clinics are filling up fast! Click here for the clinic schedule and to register online. Space is limited, and the Beginner Skate clinic is already sold out, so sign up soon!

*A note about Bavarian Ski Festival this coming Saturday: Due to the tremendous amount of new interest in cross country skiing on the weekends this winter, we feel it is in the best interest of everyone to postpone Bavarian Ski Festival on Jan 23. While we have the capacity to accommodate quite a lot of skiers at our facilities and ski trails, the added traffic of this event would make it extremely difficult to stay in accordance with the current Covid guidelines, and would put unprecedented strain on our operation. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes, and look forward to holding the event next winter!

Enjoy!
