XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/11

Great skiing, scenery, and company on the Tall Pines trail earlier this week!

The trails are in the best condition of the season. The classic tracks are firm and deep, and the skating lanes are level and packed to perfection. Groomer Butch will snow comb the skating lanes again this morning. We have 12-18 inches of snow in the woods, and 3-8 inches packed on the trails. The great news is that the back half of the Aspen Wilderness snowshoe trail is finally "dry" enough to be navigable! Rent some snowshoes at the rental desk, or bring your own to explore this beautiful section of forest.

All trails have full coverage and are in great condition for skating and classic. Temps will rise into the teens today, so you should stay plenty warm out there!

The Stone Turtle Cafe is open for outdoor dining, as well as 25% capacity indoor dining! Try a bowl of Chipotle Veggie Chili for a hearty, hot lunch!

We have a new selection of cross country ski jackets and layering pieces from Kari Traa in stock now! And of course, it’s all on sale. Ski, eat, and shop today at XC Ski HQ!

All the best,

– Mariah, Stu, Bob, Lynne, Erin, Gill, Missy, Krista, Alex, Bradley, George, Mike, Butch, Will, Joel, Donnie, Josh, Josie, Annie, Lissa, Brian and the crew
