Conditions couldn’t be better!

We received more than an inch of snow last night, and it continues to snow this morning. The trails continue to be in the best condition of the season. There are firm and deep set classic tracks on all trail, and the skating lanes are level, packed, and ideal. Groomer Mike will snow comb the skating lanes this morning. We have 12-18 inches of snow in the woods, and 3-8 inches packed on the trails. The back half of the Aspen Wilderness snowshoe trail is finally "dry" enough to be navigable! Rent some snowshoes at the rental desk, or bring your own to explore this beautiful section of forest.

The Stone Turtle Cafe is open for outdoor dining, as well as 25% capacity indoor dining! Try a bowl of Classic Chili "Stu Style", with a bed of brown rice on the bottom for a fortifying lunch!

TODAY: Join us for the Winter Fest kick off! Winter Fest Weekend kicks off at XC Ski HQ on Friday, Feb 12th, and all you need to enjoy the fun is a Winter Fest Badge, available for $5 at participating businesses (including XC Ski HQ – click here for more details). Winter Fest badge holders can enjoy a complimentary facilities pass for the day today, as well as a special Winter Fest equipment rental rate of $5 for cross country skiing or snowshoeing. Winter Fest rentals are available anytime today before 4:45pm. Participants are also invited to a bonfire at Trapper’s Cabin (about a half mile ski/snowshoe) from 12:00pm to 5:30pm with complimentary hot cocoa. Your purchase of a Winter Fest badge ($5) is your ticket to a day of skiing, as well as lots of other fun events throughout the weekend in the Higgins Lake area!
