Vasa Trail Cross Country Ski Report – 02/25

Jim and Mike did a late evening / early morning grooming hoping to catch the trail just as it started to freeze after two warm days. They were successful. The skate lane has been renovated and new classic tracks were cut in. Jim reported about 1/2 inch of crusty snow on the surface when they started which was mixed into the existing base.

Right now it is 15 degrees with clear skies and calm winds. Today should offer really good controlled skiing. Temps are forecast to warm into the mid 30s today with increasing cloud cover throughout the day.

Don’t forget your sunscreen on the sunny ski days ahead 🙂. Peace, Glen 02/25/21…6:27 am

*Throwback Thursday – Remember 10 K, our friendly Grouse Vasa Trail visitor from a few years back? For much of the season, this bird would hang out trailside and come onto the trail, tame as could be, when skiers approached. Rumor has it some bird loving skiers would even bring a pocketful of seed on their loop to help 10K get thru the winter. Another rumor is that 10K has since moved to a beachside condo in Cabo and hasn’t been back since. 🤷🏻‍♂️
