Vasa Trail Cross Country Ski Report – 03/05

Update from the Groomers:

– Good Morning Badgers,

I just heard from Jim. The 5k and the Hairpin ( 4k to 7k on the 25k ) have been renovated. They are currently on the 10k headed to the Special K. From there Jim’s plan is to go out of the Sp K past Timber Ridge and on to the 25k. He will not be grooming the Wall or Jack Pine.

It is 29 degrees on the trail which is just now starting to soften up a bit. Jim suggests skiing late in the afternoon but, even then to watch out for the areas of hard ice ( boiler plate ). The bridge area at the 1k post is solid ice. We will not be grooming the bridge section going forward unless winter returns. Accessing the 10k and 25k through the 5k is suggested.

I am headed out to ski and evaluate conditions this afternoon. Then I will re-groom the trail tonight when temps drop a little from the afternoon high.

Peace, Glen Date: 03/05/21…10:36 am
