Valley Spur Trail System Cross Country Ski Report – 03/11
Just came back from checking the trails and we are encouraged that we will be able to get some trails groomed tomorrow. We can keep B and H open for now. Our base took a pretty good hit but it’s still full coverage throughout. We may not get it all but we’ll get plenty enough for a good day of skiing. It’s not over yet!

As you might expect no grooming today. The trails are quite saturated with water. We will be taking a good look at the trails later today and coming up with a plan based on what we have to deal with. Lots of wind could have some trees down and the like.There is a real good chance we’ve lost B and H in the wet spots as our base was pretty thin to begin with. Will keep you all posted on that. Our plan would be to get something groomed up with tracks.Probably just A,C,D,X,Y and W. We’ll do what we can.

FROM Friends of Valley Spur >> Today the 23rd of March Doris Geyer and I (Peggy) made tracks on A and B Trails at Friends of Valley Spur Some other skier most have started up top and came down Heaven. They also went towards Z trail to either do Z or Heart Atack. The 4 plus inches of snow on top of yesterday's crust helped to do this. It was a good ski with my metal edge skis from Southbay Outfitters. These are great skis and Ted has them on sale. REMINDER: grooming has concluded for the season at VS. #valleyspur #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan
FROM Munising Bay Trail Network - MBTN >> We’re working on getting the snow bike loop at the upper parking lot at Valley Spur opened back up.
If you need a place to get outside and get some fresh air grab your snowshoes or wide back country skis and join the Panking party.
We’ve packed a double wide trail on the first part of the crazy 8 loop to make it easier for the groomer to make a few laps. The second loop of the figure 8 needs Panking too. The more the merrier. #valleyspur #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan
